We undertake a number of activities that are intended to inform, educate, and enlighten all members of the community in the greater Otago and Southland region, and to support young researchers as a means to providing encouragement for the next generation of researchers.
We are an associate member of the Royal Society of New Zealand
Benefits of being a member of the Otago Institute for the Arts and Sciences include:
- Priority access to, and exclusive content from OI podcasts with the opportunity to suggest speakers and questions for those speakers.

- Supporting young researchers in Otago / Southland in their endeavours through our student awards and The Otago Institute Senior School Programme (starting 2023)
As an incorporated society we are bound by the Otago Institute constitution.
