Mariska Kappmeier

Mariska Kappmeier is a Senior Lecturer at the National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Otago. Through her research she examines intergroup trust and how it can built, particular in the aftermath of violent conflict and protracted oppression. Through her research, she had developed the Intergroup Trust Model, that conceptualizes intergroup trust as a multidimensional construct. This quantitative model provides a solid basis for understanding how trust between groups can be built but also where it is eroded.

Nancy Longnecker (Otago Institute representative on the Otago Museum Trust Board)

Nancy Longnecker is Professor of Science Communication at the University of Otago. She has both academic and practical understanding of museums and their valuable role as cultural institutions. Nancy conducts transdisciplinary, cross-cultural research about impact and effectiveness of science communication and other aspects of science in society.

Dr Priscilla Wehi

Dr Priscilla Wehi is a conservation biologist based at the Centre for Sustainability at the University of Otago, and Director of Te Pūnaha Matatini Centre of Research Excellence in Complex Systems. Much of Dr Wehi’s work is interdisciplinary, and focuses on biocultural diversity.
